Dear colleagues,
I have the opportunity to do longitudinal research with creativity, culture and art entrepreneurs. The research is supposed to include both qualitative and quantitative data. One major challenge has come up in gathering latent construct (such as entrepreneurial self-efficacy) data: This group really does not like Likert scale surveys (offline or online). In addition, the style of a questionnaire does not very well fit the character of the program that they enroll in – which could be a deal breaker for the whole data gathering activity.
Therefore, I would like to learn about any experiences on how to capture latent construct data in an 'alternative' way (as compared to a 'traditional' questionnaire)? Experiences do not necessarily have to be specific to this sort of entrepreneurs, but experiences here would of course also be interesting and valuable.
Happy to share what I learn here with whoever is interested.
Thanks in advance,
René
