Stu Clark Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The University of Manitoba seeks to recruit the Stu Clark Chair in
Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The University of Manitoba is committed to

innovation, technology commercialization, and entrepreneurship. The Asper
School of Business at the University of Manitoba has the endowed Stu Clark
Centre for Entrepreneurship (http://www.umanitoba.ca/entrepreneur/) to
encourage the development of new businesses and entrepreneurial thinking, a
vibrant Technology Transfer Office focusing on University intellectual
property (http://www.umanitoba.ca/research/tto/), a 40 hectare research and
technology community known as SmartPark (http://umanitoba.ca/smartpark/),
and an incubator for entrepreneurs called the Eureka Project
(http://eurekaproject.ca/). Position Number 18084.
Candidates must have an established research record with indicators of being
a world leader in entrepreneurship or technological innovation research. A
PhD in a social science or business-related discipline is required. They
should also have a demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching. The
appointment will be based in a tenured or tenure track position at the
Associate Professor or Full Professor level, and the successful applicant
will have reduced teaching responsibilities and generous research funding
available from the initial 5-year term of the Stu Clark Chair in
Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program and
maintain a highly productive research agenda, provide effective teaching and
supervision to graduate research students, and play a leadership role in
entrepreneurship education and outreach activities in the Asper School of
Business. The primary focus of Chair will be comparative, inter-disciplinary
and collaborative research on current and emerging issues in
entrepreneurship and technological innovation, and come from one or more
foundational social scientific disciplines (e.g., psychology, sociology,
economics, and applied mathematics).

working groups focusing on research and teaching excellence in a number of
areas including organizational behaviour, consumer behaviour, financial
markets, transportation and supply chain management, and entrepreneurship
and innovation

The school has recently appointed a Canada Research Chair in
Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and has established a Behavioral Research
Lab in Entrepreneurship. In addition, the school offers entrepreneurship
majors in its undergraduate, MBA, and PhD/MSc programs. The University of
Manitoba has approximately 26,000 students and 90 degree programs. It is
situated in Winnipeg, a culturally diverse city of almost 700,000 people.
