Applications and nominations are sought for the James Clark Coffman Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurial Studies in the Department of Management at the College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University. This appointment will be made at the rank of associate professor with the recommendation for tenure. The title of James Clark Coffman Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurial Studies is awarded for a five-year period and is renewable. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Management or a related discipline with a concentration in entrepreneurship, a distinguished research record in Innovation and/or Entrepreneurship, and demonstrated excellence in teaching of entrepreneurship. Research expertise may include (but is not limited to) new venture creation, technology-based start-ups, technology transfer and commercialization and various fields such as strategic, social, international and/or minority entrepreneurship. The successful candidate is expected to disseminate his/her research in the relevant theoretical, practitioner, and policy journals and communities. Instructional duties may include teaching of both graduate and undergraduate courses. An ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a balance between strong research and teaching capabilities. A secondary area of interest in strategy is preferred.
The James Clark Coffman Chair will be expected to take a curriculum leadership role in the Brickstreet Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will also be expected to be an active participant in the research endeavors of the department, including collaborating with junior faculty members and Ph.D. students.
