    Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice in Management

    The Department of Management in the College of Business Administration invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Practice beginning in August 2015. Professors of Practice (regardless of rank) are hired on multi-year contracts that are renewable subject to performance. Teaching responsibilities typically will be 12 hours per semester. This will be an academic year (nine month) appointment and the salary is competitive.

     

    The faculty member will be an integral part of the Department's and College's long-term commitment to teaching excellence, and will be expected to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level in the areas of Strategy, OB, and HR. Professors of Practice often serve as advisors for student organizations and activities in the College of Business Administration and should possess a genuine interest in undergraduate life experiences on campus. A successful candidate will also be committed to taking leadership in the College of Business Administration with respect to advancing emerging teaching models for medium to large section classes (65-300+ students), and promoting those methods and strategies to other faculty. Commitment to advancing the scholarship of teaching through seminars and participation in teaching organizations is desirable.

     

    Requires a doctorate in Management or related field or at the time of appointment must have completed all of the requirements for a Ph.D. in Management or related field. Demonstrated ability to teach college level courses, including large lecture sections of undergraduate courses and demonstrated competency in classroom management techniques, creative course design, and varied models for the assessment of learning are also required.

     

    Preference will be given to those demonstrating excellence in teaching Management at the college level; passion for teaching and engaging students in learning experiences that not only builds their competencies but also prepares them to put into practice the theories, perspectives and behaviors of ethical contributors to society; experience with civic engagement/service learning components to provide students with direct application of learning; and experience with or the willingness to incorporate blended (on-line and face-to-face) methods.
