    Faculty Position in Strategic Management

Given the success of its MBA programs, the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Strategic Management with appointment to begin August 2014.

Willamette University is a top-ranked, private university in Salem, Oregon, the state capital. The Atkinson MBA (http://www.willamette.edu/mba/) emphasizes the management of business, government, and non-profits.  It is one of only two MBA programs worldwide accredited by both the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA – the global standard in public service education). We offer the MBA degree as two programs: full-time in Salem, Oregon; and evening MBA for working professionals in Salem and Portland, Oregon.  We also offer various executive development programs.

Portland, with a metro population over 2 million, is a short drive from Salem.  Trendsetting Oregon is home to wine country and some of the nation's most beautiful scenery.  Portland and Salem are a short distance from the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountain Range.

Atkinson faculty members support students to achieve their intellectual and professional goals in a highly collegial environment. The faculty is not departmentalized and values interdisciplinary collaboration, integrative teaching, experiential learning, and high-quality research that can cross sectoral and functional boundaries.

Position Requirements:  A doctorate in management or a similar field is required, with emphasis in strategic management from a recognized university.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the experience or potential to develop and teach MBA courses, and the motivation to pursue scholarly work, independently and collaboratively.  We prefer candidates with demonstrated or potential ability to teach the capstone course in strategy.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have the experience or potential to teach and/or research entrepreneurship or launching new ventures.  Industry experience is an added plus.

Rank is open. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, teaching and research record.

How to Apply:  Please visit https://jobs.willamette.edu/postings/search and submit a CV, evidence of teaching effectiveness and evidence of scholarly achievement/research.

Application Deadline:  Applications will be considered immediately until the position is filled.

Believing that diversity contributes to academic excellence and to rich and rewarding communities, Willamette University is committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty, staff and student body. We seek candidates, particularly those from historically under-represented groups, whose work furthers diversity and who bring to campus varied experiences, perspectives and backgrounds.
