We would like to introduce you to an exciting initiative that you and your students are going to love! USASBE Launch! is an innovative approach to student startup competitions. We will lead any students from any discipline through a fun and engaging process and introduce them to a powerful set of tools that can lead to sustainable new ventures in any industry.
Take these steps to get started today:
1. Join our mailing list at
http://usasbelaunch.org/ so we can keep you in the loop as the competition progresses
2. Share this opportunity with faculty across your campus – ANY discipline can participate!
3. Share this opportunity with all students across your campus. Students should start at the homepage, and then proceed to
http://usasbelaunch.org/top-idea-ninja/ to pre-register and get started on the path to become the Top Idea Ninja! They have until October 29th to participate in this stage, and until March 15, 2014 to participate in the entire competition and win our top prizes, which include mentoring from Eric Ries and Ash Maurya and other top investors and entrepreneurs.
4. Sign up to mentor a team – simply email
dwinkel@ilstu.edu to get on the mentor list, and we will seek to partner you with some students from a university that is not your own. Mentoring begins in March/April, and we will work with you to partner you with a team that is compatible with your expertise. Mentors are expected to commit 3-6 hours of time over the three month period.
Students can enter the competition at any stage (Top Idea Ninja, Best Business Model, Best Crowdfunding Campaign, Big Traction Challenge) before the deadline for the last stage (in March 2014). There are no fees, no requirements and no attendance for them to participate. They will gain access to world-class tools in the areas of idea, opportunity, and business modeling, crowdfunding, customer development, and pitching.
