University College Dublin invites applications for multiple permanent
positions of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (similar to Assistant/Associate
Professor in US context) in the UCD Smurfit School of Business within the
below disciplines. Candidates for lecturer positions would be expected to
complete their PhD no later than December 2014.

The management subject area at UCD is the largest of the subject areas in
the School of Business, with approximately 28 academic faculty. The
principal areas of academic specialty lie in the core business areas of
entrepreneurship and innovation, international business, organisational
behaviour, strategy, supply chain management, and technology management.

The successful candidate (commensurate with level of appointment and
experience) will contribute to the following areas and will have a track
record of:
Research: The School places a strong emphasis on research leading to
publication in international, peer-reviewed academic journals.
Inter-disciplinary research is also welcome.
Teaching and Learning: The Management Subject Area makes a significant
contribution to the School¹s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
including in particular our Undergraduate programmes ¬ the BComm, the BComm
(International), and our Bachelor of Business and Law, our wide range of
specialist masters programmes, the MBA, Executive Education and PhD
programmes.
Service: In conjunction with the College Principal and Dean of the School
of Business, Associate Deans & Subject Area head, appointees will contribute
to the strategic development of the School - including the formulation,
implementation and execution of policies to develop the School's academic
and strategic potential. S/he will also assume appropriate administrative
and managerial duties, normally expected of colleagues at L/SL level; i.e.
fostering collegiality with the School.
Note: For appointment to the position of Senior Lecturer scales, applicants
must first meet UCD¹s Benchmarks for a promotion/appointment at this grade.
