Hello everyone,
I have been informed that the link that I included in my last email about the micro-business projects resulted in the dreaded 404: File not found error. My university just moved our faculty webpages to a new server, which probably explains this error. My apologies for any problems this may have caused.
If you are interested in starting a micro-business project, I asked network members for their collective wisdom about and experiences with funding these short-term student businesses when we added it to our entrepreneurship program four years ago. The results are available here http://bit.ly/1b9MhOf .
We have found that this project to be an extremely valuable learning experience for our students, and I would be happy to discuss some of our experiences with the group either on this listserv or via email.
Have a great weekend.

Hello Jerry,
At the Brock School of Business, Samford University, undergraduate and graduate students take the following entrepreneurship courses:
Undergraduate
1. All undergraduate business students are required to take BUSA 100, World of Business (Freshman Entrepreneurship Experience). Students write preliminary business plans and compete for $5,000 in their own division of the Regions New Venture Challenge each April. (More information is available at http://bit.ly/te8E5D and http://bit.ly/18Hj5x2.)
2. All undergraduate management and entrepreneurship students take ENTR 304, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Concepts (along with BUSA 100). Besides studying important entrepreneurship concepts, each students receives a $100 loan to start a micro-business for the semester. Top performers in the class are invited to be residents in the Brock School Student Business Incubator. (Guidelines and feedback from the ENTREP –L list used in developing the micro-business project are available at http://bit.ly/1aR218A.)
3. All non-business undergraduate students with an entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, or general business minor also take BUSA 100.
Graduate
1. MBAs adding an entrepreneurship concentration as part of their degree take three graduate entrepreneurship courses (two required, one elective).
2. Non-business graduate students adding a graduate business minor can take up to two entrepreneurship electives (6 hours) as part of their 18 hour program.
Best regards,

Subject: What schools require entrepreneurship of all students
I asked this question back in 2001 (you can see the results at http://www.slu.edu/x17980.xml) but was wondering how it fares today.
Do you know of any schools that require all students (undergraduate or graduate level) to take a course in entrepreneurship?
Are there any business schools that require this (at either level) for all students?
Are there any management departments that require it?
Thanks for your responses!
Jerry
