Dear Colleagues, Thank you to those of you who have expressed interest in our academic conference on crowdfunding which will be help in Boulder July 12-13, 2013. The conference is bringing together experts and scholars from across disciplines such as law, finance, management, marketing and entrepreneurship to discuss current work and shape the research agenda on crowdfunding. This conference will provide a forum for discussion of current and emerging work. Because much of the work in this area is early stage, our conference will have an innovative format featuring keynote remarks and discussion, short debates/panel as well as research poster sessions highlighting current academic work on the topic. We are very pleased to report that we received academic submissions from six countries and across a wide range of disciplines including law, management, marketing, finance, economics, and information systems for the conference. We selected research for presentation that represented a range of perspectives on the topic of crowdfunding, with a variety of different methodological approaches. We hope these presentations, in conjunction with the debates, discussions and keynote will provide a meaningful foundation from which to set the research agenda for future impactful academic work on crowdfunding.
