    CALL FOR PAPERS

Special issue of Journal of Enterprising Communities

    Gender perspectives on Enterprising Communities

    Guest editors:

Elisabeth Sundin, Helix VINN Excellence Centre and Department of Management and Engineering, Linköping University, Sweden

Elisabet Ljunggren, Nordland Research Institute, Norway

For this special issue, we invite papers that examine gender perspectives on enterprising communities. Despite a growing interest in the topic of enterprising communities the role of gender and gendered practices within this context has scarcely been researched. Thus, there is a need for more empirical as well as conceptual studies to help us better understand the gendered aspects of enterprising communities.

The special issue takes an open approach to the concept enterprising communities as illustrated by the list of potential topics below. In general terms the community enterprising phenomena in dimensions of space, place, time, culture, work, welfare regimes and organizations are of relevance and so are comparisons in and between dimensions.

This special issue on "Gender perspectives on Enterprising Communities" invites both conceptual and theoretically informed empirical papers from different perspectives which address these issues. The following is an indicative but not exhaustive list of potential topics:

    ·         Immigrant entrepreneurs

    ·         Enterprising regions

    ·         Enterprising occupations

    ·         Enterprising peripheral regions

    ·         Gender equality and enterprising possibilities

    ·         Gendered aspects of policies for enterprising communities

    ·         Enterprising communities, entrepreneurial behavior and the role of gender

    ·         Participating in creation of enterprising communities and gender perspectives

    ·         Resources needed for enterprising communities (access to human and social capital, public private partnerships etc)
