Dear Colleagues:
You are cordially invited to attend the 2013 meeting of the Eastern Academy
of Management at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, May
8-11, 2013.
This is a special year for EAM as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. We will
feature special sessions and events to commemorate 50 years of scholarship
and collegiality. Our beautiful conference venue in Baltimores Inner Harbor
offers a variety of dining and recreational activities to add to your
experience.
Our conference theme this year, Creativity and Innovation: Designs for the
Future, focuses on the need for organizations to respond in new and
different ways to dynamic market forces. Amidst rapidly changing technology
and a culture that craves exciting products and services, organizations are
compelled to innovate to remain competitive. Our conference theme explores
best practices in innovation and creativity among managers and educators
with panel discussions, symposia, traditional sessions and some unique and
indeed, creative presentations. EAM 2013 includes a wide selection of
professional development workshops, some focused specifically on creativity
and innovation and others covering topics including project management,
followership and course design. We are also offering three open-enrollment
Consortia focused on career issues of doctoral students, junior faculty, and
mid-career/senior faculty. Information about the Consortia can be found at
https://eamconference.org/consortia.asp
Finally, we are excited to invite you to attend our Welcome Dinner that will
be held at Mr. Rains Fun House located atop the American Visionary Art
Museum. This unique restaurant offers contemporary American cuisine in a
beautiful and relaxing setting, perfect for pre-conference mingling. As
always, pre-payment is required for this event; please see the conference
registration page.
We are putting the final touches on the full program schedule and will have
it posted next week.
