    The Schulich School of Business at York University is seeking an
    outstanding scholar to fill a named Chair in Entrepreneurship at the rank
    of senior Associate or Full Professor. Ideally, the effective start date
    for the position will be July 1, 2013.

    The entrepreneurship research climate in the school is strong, with highly
    collegial faculty focusing on diverse areas of entrepreneurship research.
    These include
    Douglas Cumming, whose interests include venture capital, private
    equity, hedge funds, entrepreneurial finance, and law and finance
    Yuval Deutsch, who applies analytical signalling models to study how
    new ventures address the liability of newness
    Eileen Fischer, who researches how entrepreneurial firms build their
    reputations in domestic and foreign markets
    Moren Lévesque, who applies the methodologies of analytical and
    quantitative disciplines to the study of decision making in new
    business formation
    Justin Tan, who investigates entrepreneurial firms in the context of
    China, and has interests in questions related to innovation and
    technology, and
    Charlene Zietsma who studies social and sustainable entrepreneurship
    and institutional change.

    We seek a colleague who will complement our existing strengths. Applicants
    engaged in any aspect of the broad spectrum of entrepreneurial studies are
    encouraged to apply.



    Preferred candidates for the Chair position will have:


    - a doctorate in a field relevant to entrepreneurship;


    - a significant record of entrepreneurship research in top tier journals;


    - evidence of a very active entrepreneurship research program with clear
    potential for future top tier publications;


    - a demonstrated international orientation;


    - evidence of having achieved a position of scholarly leadership in the
    entrepreneurship field;


    - evidence of effectiveness in teaching entrepreneurship courses,
    preferably at a range of levels, and eligibility for prompt appointment to
    the Faculty of Graduate Studies.


    All positions are subject to budgetary approval. Salary and benefits are
    competitive.
