The Management Department of the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a faculty position in Management at our main campus in Oxford, Mississippi. This is a tenure-track position with the School of Business Administration and is open for the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Management with a research emphasis in entrepreneurship and/or strategy.
Duties: The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching, conducting research aimed at top-tier journals, and providing service to the university and the profession beginning in August 2013. New faculty will be expected to contribute to a research active faculty that has published papers in such journals as the Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. The normal teaching load for this position for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 (6 credit hours per semester, Fall and Spring) at either the undergraduate, MBA, and/or PhD level for courses in Entrepreneurship and/or Strategic Management. Research active faculty also have the option to teach intersession courses for additional pay, subject to course and funding availability.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for this position, the applicant must have earned a doctorate degree (or hold ABD status with expected degree completion prior to August 2013) from an AACSB accredited program in Management, either in Entrepreneurship or Strategic Management. Applicants should possess a proven track record of original research and publication in recognized and high quality management journals, and must provide evidence of a strong commitment to scholarship, effective teaching, and service.

Salary for this position is competitive while the cost of living in Oxford is particularly low (e.g., approximately 46% lower than the Washington, DC area).
