| | DIVERSITY & INCLUSION THEME COMMITTEE (D&ITC) NEWS | |
Some of the D&ITC's aims are to:
1. increase the awareness, importance, and impact of diversity and inclusion in AOM in a sustainable manner;
2. identify and remove systemic, structural, and social barriers to diversity and inclusion in AOM;
3. promote diversity and inclusion in AOM by increasing the representation, involvement and access of underrepresented groups at all levels;
4. act as a resource to the AOM community by disseminating guidelines and tools on diversity and inclusion;
5. provide opportunities for dialogue, mutual learning, and cooperation among AOM members worldwide with different backgrounds.
With these aims in mind, a major activity for D&ITC this past year was launching a Survey of Inclusion in the Academy of Management, which was sent to a random sample of half of the members during April. We are now analyzing the survey results.
Further, the D&ITC has put together an exciting program for the AOM in Orlando. We invite you to participate in the sessions listed below, such as the sharing of the D&ITC survey results at the D&ITC Town Hall meeting. We would also be delighted to meet you on Saturday August 10, at the Diversity and Inclusion Connections Café (Social), from 5:15PM - 7:15PM, at WDW Dolphin Resort in Europe 2.
