Associate/Full Professor Position in Entrepreneurship and Director of The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development
The Department of Management and Global Business and The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) at Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick invites applications for the position of Director of CUEED and an associate or full professor position in Entrepreneurship. The principal responsibility of this position is to serve as the Director of CUEED. CUEED is a research and practitioner-oriented center within Rutgers Business School. The Director will provide ongoing leadership; create and oversee the implementation of CUEED programs, activities, and academic programs; develop and implement actions plans; represent CUEED in public and professional communities; identify, establish, and manage partnerships with internal and external departments, institutions, centers, government institutions, and community organizations to collaborate on programs/initiatives, services, and conferences/summits; develop the strategy for marketing and branding CUEED and its programs; and oversee and coordinate the work of CUEED's permanent staff and affliated faculty and fellows. The Director is responsible for fundraising and grant writing which includes identifying and obtaining external sources of funding, including government and foundation grants and individual donor gifts.
The candidate will also hold an associate or full professor position within the Rutgers Business School. Faculty members are expected to pursue an active research program, perform undergraduate and graduate teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage in service activities.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent, outstanding research; excellent teaching capabilities; strong recommendations; a record of leadership in higher education and/or corporate experience; creative and entrepreneurial vision for the future; ability to build relationships; and successful fundraising.
The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) is the first center of its kind in the nation to integrate scholarly works with private capital, government, and non-profit sectors to develop citywide resources and bring renewed economic growth and vitality through urban entrepreneurship. The mission of The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development is to build a world-class research-driven, teaching and practitioner-oriented urban entrepreneurship and economic development program that will transform the economy of urban centers; create wealth in urban communities; and be a model for all urban universities. The Center's location in the City of Newark, New Jersey provides a unique opportunity to put the knowledge developed into action. Rutgers Business School is located in the New York metropolitan area and spans campuses in Newark and New Brunswick. We opened a new Business School building in Newark in 2009 and are in the process of constructing a new Business School building in New Brunswick that is expected to open in 2013.
