    Hello ENT colleagues:

You are cordially invited to attend and participate in a Showcase Symposium on The Process of Creating Opportunities in a Corporate Setting at AoM 2012.  The session will be Monday, Aug 6, 2012, at 8:00AM - 9:30AM, at Sheraton Boston Hotel in Berkley A.

Recent work on the nature of entrepreneurial opportunities has drawn a distinction between opportunities that have arisen from the environment ("discovery opportunities") and those that are endogenous to the entrepreneur ("creation opportunities"). The process of forming and exploiting creation opportunities is, in theory, quite different from the conventional wisdom on how to be an entrepreneur. This symposium will offer the chance to dialog with both scholars and practitioners engaged in the study and practice of opportunity creation.

Our discussant will be Sharon Alvarez of The Ohio State University.

    Participants include:

    Jay Barney (University of Utah)

    Bill Schulze (University of Utah)

    Mary Tripsas (Boston College)

Keith Zook (Global Senior, P&G CSDW Ambassador)

The hashtag for the session will be #AOM 2012 724.  It should be a fascinating discussion and we are looking forward to seeing you there!

    Brian M. Saxton

Ph.D. Candidate, Management and Human Resources

Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University
