    The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in entrepreneurship beginning fall 2013.  Applicants should demonstrate evidence of effective undergraduate teaching, a well-established research agenda in entrepreneurship, and an interest in mentoring undergraduate students and teaching in the part-time MBA program.  Candidates with associate or full professor qualifications will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

     

    Primary teaching will include entrepreneurship courses offered through our major and minor in entrepreneurship and courses in Elon's General Studies Program along with potential to contribute to the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership which reaches out to students and faculty across campus.  The ideal applicant will possess a Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited university.

     

    About the School:  The AACSB-accredited Martha and Spencer Love School of Business is housed in the Koury Business Center, which features state-of-the-art classrooms, multiple student engagement areas, the LaRose Digital Theatre, the Reed Finance Center, the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center, and the Porter Family Professional Development Center.  In 2012, Bloomberg Businessweek ranked the school's undergraduate program #43 in the nation overall and ranked #5 in quality of business internship.     The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in entrepreneurship beginning fall 2016. Applicants should demonstrate evidence of effective undergraduate teaching, a promising research agenda in entrepreneurship, innovation/technology, social entrepreneurship, creativity, or related subjects, and an interest in mentoring undergraduate students. Teaching responsibilities will primarily include entrepreneurship courses, but candidates should have a willingness to teach management strategy, MBA courses, and courses in Elon’s General Studies Program.

    The entrepreneurship program at Elon is in an exciting phase, including the launch of a distinctive course curriculum; a unique, student-endowed startup fund; the novel repurposing of a church into an “Innovation House” for student living; a maker-space initiative in conjunction with engineering and other departments on campus; and growing student involvement in events and competitions sponsored by the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Our faculty members are also active with their own startups, inventions, and other activities that inform their research, teaching, and student mentoring. We are seeking applications from candidates who are interested in making their own contribution to this flourishing program.
