If you are currently conducting research in this area, or if you are interested in learning more about some of the topics being discussed in this realm, we welcome your participation:
What is spiritual entrepreneurship? Generally speaking, spiritual entrepreneurship may be described as a state where an individual understands him/herself as being connected to all things in the universe and, thus, seeks an expression of this connection in his/her business (Ashmos & Duchon, 2000: Sfeir-Youins, 2002; Gull & Doh, 2004). A small but growing body of literature specifically examines the spirituality and entrepreneurship connection, particularly regarding how an entrepreneur's heightened human consciousness affects his/her activities (e.g., opportunity recognition, venture creation, venture operation, and venture growth).

This workshop session will share some of the new theoretical and methodological approaches being used to explore and build upon the body of spiritual entrepreneurship research. In this workshop, a group of spiritual entrepreneurship scholars will provide attendees a brief up-to-date review of the current work in this area, sharing a number of questions that are currently being asked and the methods being used to address these questions. Following the brief review, session attendees will participate in an engaging interactive forum and brainstorming activity, through which attendees interested in spiritual entrepreneurship may exchange ideas and discover synergies that may encourage and build upon existing research. Pre-registration is encouraged (but not required) at https://secure.aomonline.org/PDWReg. Participants are welcome to bring draft papers, ideas or questions.
