    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: ROTTERDAM SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, ERASMUS UNIVERSITY

    The Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, is looking to hire two new colleagues to join the department in the Summer of 2013.

    Available Positions: Tenure-Track Assistant Professors in Entrepreneurship

    Candidates should have a doctorate degree (ABD candidates are welcome to apply), and the potential to build a record of excellence in both teaching and research. We are looking for (all-round) candidates whose work is profoundly at the core of the field of (Strategic) Entrepreneurship. In particular we are searching for academic knowledge and expertise in the following key areas: new venture creation and planning, business development, entrepreneurial finance and marketing, family business, or any other relevant specialization in entrepreneurship including, for example, habitual, academic and social entrepreneurs.

    Interested candidates should apply by sending a complete application package (including a cover letter explaining your motivation to apply at RSM, current vita, job market paper, concise research statement, teaching evaluations (if available), and three letters of recommendation) to the Chair of the Department (Pursey Heugens; pheugens@rsm.nl) and the Departmental Secretary (Mrs. Carolien Heintjes; cheintjes@rsm.nl). The deadline for applications is October 7, 2012. Candidates will be informed about whether they are shortlisted for a formal job interview or not by October 15 at the latest. Fly-outs for formal job seminars will be held between November 1st and December 15th.     The Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship consists of the following tenured/tenure-track faculty: Professors - Harry Barkema, Pursey Heugens (Department Chair), Justin Jansen, Suzana Rodrigues, Frans van den Bosch, Hans van Oosterhout & Henk Volberda; Associate Professors - Marc Baaij, Luca Berchicci, Hans Bruining, Wim Hulsink, Albert Jolink, Jeroen de Jong, Orietta Marsili, Rene Olie, Ilan Oshri, Patrick Reinmoeller, Jatinder Sidhu, Arjen Slangen & Woody van Olffen; Assistant Professors - Shazad Ansari, Thomas Blekman, Katrin Burmeister, Yang Fan, Koen Heimeriks, Ferdinand Jaspers, Nikos Kavadis, Tom Mom, Anna Nadolska, Jurriaan Nijholt, Marten Stienstra, Michiel Tempelaar, Vareska van der Vrande, Niels van der Weerdt, Raymond van Wijk, Ingrid Verheul, & Frank Wijen.

    The department ranks amongst the top departments in Europe in terms of its research productivity and impact. Faculty have recently published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Annals, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Management Science, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Strategic Management Journal, amongst others. The department offers its own pre-experience master programs in strategic management and in entrepreneurship and new business venturing, as well as post-experience executive programs in strategic management and in management consulting. In addition, the department contributes to the Rotterdam School of Management's undergraduate, MBA, and EMBA programs, and to the MPhil and PhD programs of Erasmus University. While our group is on average demographically young, its members are increasingly involved in academic leadership roles in both North American and European scholarly associations like the AoM, EGOS, EURAM, SMS, and SAMS.
