The Management, Entrepreneurship & Leadership (MEL) Department of the Neeley School of Business at TCU invites applications for chairperson of the department. We are seeking candidates with distinguished records of scholarly accomplishment in management or related disciplines, and demonstrated potential to be an effective department chair. The appointment as MEL chairperson requires an initial 4-year administrative commitment. We are searching for an inspiring teacher-scholar, administrator, leader and colleague who will enhance MEL's departmental initiatives.

About TCU, the Neeley School of Business, and the Department:

The University has approximately 9,500 FTE graduate and undergraduate students, with approximately 2,100 students enrolled in the Neeley School of Business. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, the Neeley School is situated in one of the nation's top communities for business growth and is recognized as a top 50 business school by major publications such as Business Week and the Wall Street Journal. The Department currently has over 20 faculty, with specific programs in both entrepreneurship and leadership. The Department was selected as the 2011 National Model Entrepreneurship Program by USASBE, and has recently been recognized as a 2012 top ten entrepreneurship program by Business Week. Additionally, the Department hosts the BNSF Next Generation Leadership Program, which is focused on developing exceptional undergraduate students to become tomorrow's leaders.

In recent years members of the Department have had papers published in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Organization Research Methods, Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Strategic Management Journal, and other leading journals. Our faculty and staff are committed to developing ethical leaders with a global perspective who will help shape the future business environment. Requirements:

Candidates for the position should possess an earned doctorate in one of the management disciplines or a related area, and should currently hold the rank of full or associate professor. Expectations for the MEL Chairperson include strong evidence of distinguished scholarly accomplishment, reflected by publication in leading academic journals, and evidence of administrative leadership experience, which might include previous chairperson experience or experience as a center director, a doctoral program administrator, a position of leadership in a professional organization, or similar activity. Evidence of a strong record of teaching excellence is essential. The salary range is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
