Responsibilities
The Department of Management in the Erivan K. Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph's University invites applications for one (1) tenure-track position at the Assistant level in International Business effective August 2012. We are interested in applicants whose primary research and teaching expertise is in International Business with secondary emphasis in Strategy.
Saint Joseph's University enrollment is approximately 8,000 students in all programs. The Haub School of Business is AACSB accredited. U.S. News and World Report ranked the Haub School of Business 70th in the nation for part-time graduate business education. They also ranked the Executive MBA program 20th in the nation and four disciplines (including Management) in the Top 25. In Business Week's Best Undergraduate Business Schools, Haub ranks 80 overall, with an A+ for teaching and A for job placement. We received the Gold Chapter Award for Beta Gamma Sigma and were ranked as one of the Top 100 business schools in the world by the Aspen Institute's 2009-2010 Beyond Grey Pinstripes, a biennial survey of business schools.
Qualifications
This position requires a doctorate in a business-related area with a major emphasis in international business or strategy. Candidates should have primary teaching and research interests in international business as well as the ability to teach strategy classes. Experience and interest in online education and curricular development in International Business are pluses. We may consider ABD candidates who are within six months of graduation, but only those that demonstrate strong research potential. Excellent teaching skills are essential: the successful applicant will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with opportunities to teach in the Executive Programs. Normal course load is 3/3 (the equivalent of 18 credits per academic year). Average class size at SJU is 28. Applicants must show a proven research record.
