Dear Colleagues:
It is not too soon to register and secure your hotel accommodations for the
2011 meeting of the Southern Management Association at the Hyatt Regency in
Savannah, Georgia, to be held from November 9-12. So, we?d like to extend
our initial invitation to you to attend SMA 2011! We are currently working
hard on this year?s program, which promises to be outstanding, with a
variety of high quality presentations, workshops, and symposia. Further, the
meeting location is a fantastic one, as SMA visits Savannah for the first
time. Our conference hotel is directly on River Front Plaza, in the heart
of Savannah?s beautiful historic district, and is surrounded by a large
number of great dining establishments, entertainment and social venues, and
historic attractions.
This year?s program will include more than 225 papers, workshops, cases, and
symposia across eight tracks?when finalized in September, the full program
will be posted on the SMA web site. As usual, there will also be a wide
variety of professional development activities on tap, including two SMA
doctoral consortia (for early- and late-stage students), a teaching
excellence bootcamp, and a variety of other professional development
sessions that will be highly relevant to your research, teaching, and
service interests. You?ll also certainly want to plan to attend all the
other special activities at the meeting, including the annual business
meeting, several great receptions, and the Friday night SMA party. We?ll
provide additional details about all of these events in the coming weeks.
