The Department of Management at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the area of Entrepreneurship.
The appointment begins in August 2012.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship, as well as opportunities to teach in secondary areas such as organizational behavior, strategic management, international management, operations management, sustainability, research methods, human resource management, or business ethics, among others. On-going scholarly activity and publication in peer-reviewed journals is expected.
Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business is accredited by AACSB, and is one of the largest undergraduate business schools in the country with over 4,500 students. There are several opportunities for new faculty to conduct cross-disciplinary research, as well as participate in the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Innovation and niche programs such as Integrated Supply Management. The Kalamazoo/Southwest Michigan area is home to many Fortune 500 companies, such as Kellogg, Stryker, Herman Miller, Steelcase, Whirlpool, Eaton, and Pfizer, as well as two nationally recognized hospitals, providing ample opportunities to partner with firms in a variety of industries.
Qualified applicants will have a PhD in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship, completed by August 2012, and experience teaching in the Entrepreneurship area. Applicants should also have a strong potential for success in scholarly research. Review of applications will start on September 15, 2011 and will continue until the position is filled.
