The College of Business invites applications for a full time (1.0 FTE), 12 month, Associate or Full Professor as to begin as early as January 2012. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
This is a programmatic leadership position with the primary responsibility of and accountability to lead and manage the operations of the Austin Entrepreneurship Program (AEP) within the College of Business (COB). The Director of the AEP reports to the Dean of the COB, supervises the Assistant Director of the AEP@Weatherford Residential College, is the primary fundraiser for the AEP, functions as the Discipline Director for the Entrepreneurship Discipline, teaches in the MBA program, plays a key role in the Division of Business and Engineering, and develops the AEP Advisory Council relationships. The AEP Advisory Council consists of business owners/entrepreneurs who provide insight and help develop the Program's strategic direction and participate in implementation where appropriate. Required qualifications include:
1. A Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited University or equivalent with an emphasis in business or entrepreneurship.
2. Demonstrated administrative and communication skills and collegiality in an academic setting.
3. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Preferred qualifications include:
1. Five years of practical entrepreneurial work experience, preferably in high technology or innovative businesses.
2. Prior leadership or administrative experience within Entrepreneurship Centers/Programs.
3. Program managerial experience with significant budget responsibilities.
Appointment at the associate and full professor levels require time in rank and research performance that meet the criteria for promotion to this rank.
