Strategic Human Capital
We enthusiastically invite you to attend the professional development workshop "Strategic Human Capital: Origins of and Prospects for a New Construct in Strategic Management."
The field of strategic management has increasingly recognized the need to address "microfoundations" of competitive advantage. The "pendulum" of strategic management research is swinging rapidly toward the level of the individual as a key independent variable to explain competitive advantage (Abell, Felin, & Foss, 2008; Felin & Foss, 2005; Hoskisson, Hitt, Wan, & Yiu, 1999). The purpose of this professional development workshop is to identify the key issues that need to be addressed to advance the construct of strategic human capital. This PDW promises exciting opportunities for researchers across several research domains: human resources, strategic management, organizational behavior, technology and innovation management, entrepreneurship, management education and development, and organizational theory.
Why should you attend?
- See presentations on unique, multi-disciplinary research perspectives related to the construct of strategic human capital
- Participate in round-table discussions with panelists focused on generating cutting-edge research questions and studies on strategic human capital
- Enjoy an executive breakfast generously provided by Michigan State University's School of Human Resource and Labor Relations.
Please join me and our esteemed panelists, Russell Coff; U. of Wisconsin, Madison; Janice C. Molloy; Michigan State U.; Mark Shanley; U. of Illinois, Chicago; Paul Drnevich; U. of Alabama; and William S Hesterly; U. of Utah, in this workshop. on Friday, August 12, at 8am in the San Antonio Convention Center, Room 006D.
