The Department of Management in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina is currently recruiting for an open rank tenured/tenure-track position in the strategic management area, beginning in Fall 2012. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Strategic Management or a related field, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research and teaching, and have the ability to teach required and specialized courses in Strategic Management at both undergraduate and graduate levels. For candidates at a more senior rank, the position requires an extensive record of publication in leading journals and the capacity to play a leadership role within the doctoral program. For candidates at a more junior rank, the position requires a demonstrated potential to develop a meaningful stream of research at leading journals. The Department of Management spans the areas of Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, and Human Resources Management. The Darla Moore School of Business is the beneficiary of one of the largest private donations to a U.S. business school, having received combined gifts of $70 million from business executive Darla Moore, and has recently embarked on the design and construction of a new $90 million dollar facility which is scheduled to be completed and ready to occupy in 2013. Known for leadership in international business, the Darla <st1:personname w:st="on">Moore School of Business</st1:personname> is home to a Center for International Business and Education Research (CIBER). The undergraduate program in international business is consistently ranked No. 1 for that category by the U.S. News and World Report, while the graduate program in international business is consistently ranked No. 1 or No. 2. The part-time MBA (PMBA) Program is ranked No. 36 nationally in the most recent 2012 U.S. News and World Report graduate rankings. Further, the Department of Management houses the Riegel & Emory HR Center and the Faber Entrepreneurship Center. Through the CIBER, Riegel & Emory HR Center, and college research funds, the Darla Moore School of Business provides internal research funding for faculty in support of a variety of micro, macro, and international research projects in management.
