The Entrepreneurship Division will sponsor an Early Career Development Consortium during the 2012 annual meetings of the Academy of Management meetings in Boston. This year's program is specifically designed to meet the needs of those scholars who are early in their career and who hold the rank of Assistant Professor or similar. On Friday, August 3rd some of the leading scholars in our field will provide practical advice about managing your career. Presenters include: Sharon Alvarez, Gerry George, Dean Shepherd, Julio de Castro, Bill Schulze, Jay Dial, Jonathan Eckhardt, Alan Carsrud, James Hayton, Susanna Khavul, Haiyang Li and others.
The consortium is designed to provide networking opportunities among participants and information and insights on issues that are central during the early stages of your career irrespective of where you work in the world. Topics include 'Career paths in Entrepreneurship within the Academy', 'Crossing Oceans in Your Career', 'Successfully Navigating the P&T Process', and 'How and Where to get Your Entrepreneurship Research Published'. Sessions will also include small group workshops organized along the research interests of the participants. These sessions will allow participants to share some of their research, receive feedback from fellow participants and discuss the topics that excite them and where they see the field headed.
