  • 1.  Suggestions for case study on entrepreneurial ethics for cross-campus course?

    Posted 01-20-2012 07:40

    Hi all,

This semester, I'm interested in including a case study on the ethics of entrepreneurship, for my entrepreneurship minor.  The entrepreneurship minor that I teach and coordinate is open to almost all 25000 undergraduate and graduate students across my university's entire campus.  Thus, the case study should not be too technical, nor too specialized (i.e. steeped in financial lingo or complicated financial situations).  I'm interested in a case study that can be used alongside Daniel Isenberg's HBR blog post on entrepreneurial lying.

I have searched the collection of Harvard Business Publishing, and found basically nothing that suits my particular current need.

    I welcome any suggestions!

Good luck, Chih-Mao -- great to hear from you and I think this is the kind of case that many would like to have.

Did you look at Darden's list? The Darden School itself is strong in both ethics and entrepreneurship.

    Chih-Mao:

There's a case on managing ethically in corrupt environments, (A and B cases, plus teaching note) on the ECCH case website (www.ecch.com), about two entrepreneurs building a cell phone company in sub-Saharan Africa:

I regularly teach it and it goes very well.
