Academy of MGT PDW: Careers in the Rough: A Research Development Workshop

Entrepreneurship scholars, submit your careers-related research here, and receive expert advice on getting it published! Entrepreneurship and self-employment are increasingly important career options and research related to these career choices is welcomed. Careers in the Rough is a celebrated annual workshop consisting of accomplished scholars mentoring participants’ Careers research that is in its formative stages.
Topics include but are not limited to: people's lifelong succession of work experiences; the relationship between careers and other aspects of life such as work-family balance; individual career development; career management strategies and success; relationships between human resource systems and careers; life cycle interactions with work, race, culture, and gender effects on careers; internal labor market structures and functions; cross-cultural careers; and effects of demographic and social changes on work.
Participants are required to provide a 1500-3000 word overview of the research idea and are also encouraged to write 250 words on a challenge that they need help addressing. Register before July 15, 2011 secure a place in this popular PDW, by contacting the workshop organizer at
