SAGE helps high school students create better futures through entrepreneurship education. At the SAGE competition, about 20 SAGE teenage teams will make an oral/audio-visual presentation to a panel of distinguished judges from the private and public sectors.
Among the confirmed judges are Joe Pedott, creator of the Chia Pet; Lauren Elliott, creator of the software program Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?; Joe Kapp, former NFL quarterback and community activist; Jim McGinley, Ashoka Foundation; and Jerr Boschee, Founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Social Entrepreneurs.
The judges will decide which team is the most creative and effective in operating their socially-responsible business during the year. Specifically, judges will evaluate the quality of the teams' four-page annual report and their 13-minute multimedia presentation. SAGE judges are briefed the morning of May 27 at 8:30 a.m., at UIC's Student Center East Illinois Room.
