For Australians / Journal Rankings Exercise

Dear Colleagues:  You may not be aware that in Australia there is a Journal Ranking exercise being carried out under the banner of the Excellence in Research in Australia (ERA).  Peak bodies such as the newly formed Asia-Pacific Entrepreneurship Research Academy are deliberating which journals should warrant the A*, A, B, and C ratings.  There is an important discussion and judging exercise going on www.apera.cc to recommend changes to the Entrepreneurship Journal Ranking List.  We are using Impact Factor, h-index and other many measures of journal rankings to recommend changes to the existing ERA Journals list.  However, there are some other not so objective measures as well.

As of today, the group is recommending to drop half of the existing list of 35 journals from the ERA list primarily because of their low h-index.  But we are recommending to add 15 other journals to this list that were previously not included in ERA.  Your comments are welcome.

There is a Wiki set up where you can make your comments / recommendations / suggestions.  This is a very important exercise for Australians, but also for anyone interested in Journal Rankings.  WE HAVE ONLY A FEW DAYS TO COMPLETE THE TASK.  http://www.apera.cc/forums/16-apera.cc-Hot-topics

    Kind regards,

    apera.cc Board of Directors
