    The Management Department of the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in management (strategic management and/or entrepreneurship) at the assistant or associate professor rank at our main campus in Oxford, Mississippi, beginning in August, 2011.


    Duties: Teach undergraduate, MBA, and/or PhD level courses in strategic management and/or entrepreneurship; conduct research aimed toward top-tier journals; and provide service to the university and the profession. The normal teaching load for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 with the option to teach summer courses for additional pay subject to course and funding availability.


    Required Qualifications: Must have an earned doctorate degree (or hold ABD status with expected degree completion prior to August 2011) from an AACSB accredited program in Management, preferably in Strategic Management or Entrepreneurship.  Applicants should possess a proven track record of original research and publication in quality/recognized management journals, and must provide evidence of a strong commitment to scholarship, effective teaching, and service. 


    The University of Mississippi is situated in Oxford, MS, an extraordinarily livable city (www.oxfordms.com/) featuring all that is best about living in the South. Oxford is a one-hour drive south of Memphis, TN, and is known as the home of Nobel Prize winning author William Faulkner. Oxford has also been featured as a literary and arts destination in such publications as Southern LivingCondé Nast Traveler, and GQ. Among other cultural activities, annual events include the Oxford Film Festival and the Ford Center Performing Arts Series. The cost of living in Oxford is particularly low (e.g., approximately 30% lower than the Washington, DC area).
