Dear Colleagues,
OBTS Teaching Society for Management Educators is excited to announce that
the national 2011 OBTC Teaching Conference is now accepting proposals for
submission. The theme for OBTC 2011 is: Open to the Possibilities:
Self/Students/Community/World
All around us are possibilities: for ourselves in our lives and work; for
our students in their studies and potential careers; in our communities and
the ways in which we can affect them; and the world in the way we understand
our responsibilities to ensure a better future for generations to come.
Often these possibilities and potentials go unrecognized and untapped, due
to time constraints, lack of innovation or imagination, or lack of awareness
that they exist. In this conference, we encourage participants to engage in
an ongoing dialogue that has the potential to allow each of us to open to
new ideas, approaches, awareness and practices to enhance our lives and our
work.
The conference is an exciting opportunity for faculty from all disciplines
to hone their teaching skills and to learn techniques and tools to make
their classrooms more vibrant and interactive.
On behalf of the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, we invite you to
submit a session proposal and attend the 38th Organizational Behavior
Teaching Conference.
OBTC program sessions are a mix of teaching workshops, reflective
discussions on teaching and curriculum design, and demonstrations of
experiential exercises. We are looking for exciting, interactive sessions
that run for 30, 60, or 90 minutes. OBTC attracts not only organizational
behavior educators in addition to those teaching strategy, HR, leadership,
and other management disciplines.
Session proposals should be no more than 6 pages long, and typically include
an abstract, a detailed description of the session, why you think this would
be an interesting session for the conference, and proposed session length.
Reviewers will be evaluating sessions based on originality, fit to
conference theme, potential interest, and degree of interactivity.

Regular Proposal Submission Deadline: December 6, 2010
Proposals will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis, so we encourage
you to submit as soon as possible.
Conference Site and Activities
Marquette University is a Catholic Jesuit University with a beautiful urban
campus located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. In addition, a vast
array of stimulating attractions will appeal to many conference attendees in
Milwaukee, especially in the pleasant and comfortable early months of
summer! From a world-renowned zoo to numerous museums, breweries, gardens,
and special attractions, Milwaukee boasts a large number of museums
containing rich history of not just the city, but, the world. We are
planning a visit to a brewery and have a traditional Milwaukee Friday Night
Fish Fry.
We're planning an exciting program, including Conversations with Interesting
People from all walks of life, as well as our always enlightening and
stimulating interactive conference sessions. Featured before and during the
conference is our Doctoral Institute.
Hope to see you at OBTC 2011!
