I am working on my doctoral dissertation and would like to be aware of research in progress in the area of entrepreneurship and social capital, and entrepreneurship in the manufacturing belt. My study will look at how homegrown entrepreneurs (those who have always lived in the area), transplant entrepreneurs (those who are new to the area) and boomerang entrepreneurs (those who grew up in the area, left and returned) leverage social capital in a manufacturing belt environment. The types of social capital in this study are: information; financial/funding; tangible resources; and collaborations/referrals. I am examining whether differences exist between these groups in their ability to connect and leverage resources from the social network.
As a way to expand my literature review, I would appreciate any information on researchers that currently have work in progress on this topic. Thank you for your suggestions.
