    Dean, Brock School of Business

Samford University seeks nominations and applications for the position of dean of the Brock School of Business.

The new dean of Samford's Brock School of Business will join one of the premiere teaching institutions in the Southeast. As Alabama's largest private university, Samford has an endowment of more than $220 million and is ranked in the top tier of national doctoral research universities by U.S. News and World Report (one of ten private universities in the Southeast to hold this distinction). At this time of unparalleled opportunity for the university, the dean of the Brock School of Business will enjoy a highly visible and strategic role as senior leader of the school, guiding the operation of all programs, directing the strategic planning process, hiring new personnel, and contributing as a professor in an academic discipline. The dean will also represent the school to relevant external constituencies in such areas as development, public relations, and alumni affairs, and will serve as a member of the Deans Council and the University Council. Supported by a progressive university leadership and involved trustees, the dean of the Brock School of Business will work with an accomplished and ambitious faculty to expand the university's influence in the academic and business communities of the region and the nation.

The Brock School of Business, named in 2007 for long-time Samford trustee, banking pioneer, and entrepreneur Harry B. Brock, Jr., is fully accredited by AACSB International. The school offers programs of study leading to the bachelor of science in business administration with majors in accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, management, and marketing. Concentrations are also available in international business and social entrepreneurship. Approximately one-sixth of the university's undergraduate students major in business. Non-business students may pursue minors in economics, general business, and social entrepreneurship. The Brock School of Business has been recognized by the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) for its signature program in entrepreneurship. At the graduate level, students may earn the master of business administration or master of accountancy degrees. The school also offers joint programs through partnerships with other schools on campus, including J.D./M.B.A., M.B.A./M.Div., and M.B.A./M.S.N. degrees.

Candidates must support the university's Christian mission.
