Why We All Should Be Bayesians!
David Krackhardt, Carnegie Mellon University
William H. Starbuck, University of Oregon
Joern H. Block, Erasmus University of Rotterdam
Andreas Schwab, Iowa State University
We argue for a new direction in research analysis. The argument is that
most of the inferential statistical procedures management scholars use are
not addressing the question of interest to researchers. We demonstrate how
Bayesian analysis can answer these questions appropriately. We also
address the question why Bayesian statistics has been largely ignored in
the community of scholars represented by the Academy of Management. Time
is left at the end of the talks for open discussion with members of the
audience.
