We would like to invite an emerging scholar to join us as we continue to build a premier academic program in entrepreneurship. The School of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University is seeking a high potential scholar to join a growing team of academic entrepreneurs dedicated to leading edge research, curriculum innovation, and high impact regional, national and international outreach.
Reflecting the university's strong commitment to entrepreneurship, Oklahoma State is the only major research institution that is home to an academic School of Entrepreneurship. Faculty members within the School are devoted exclusively to the discipline of entrepreneurship, and this is reflected in their research, teaching, and service responsibilities. The School manages an innovative curriculum consisting of thirty-two dedicated entrepreneurship courses that are competency-based. It offers an undergraduate major and university-wide minor in entrepreneurship, a Master's in Entrepreneurship (MSE), an MBA concentration, and a doctoral program in entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship at OSU has received major support from alumni and the business community including a major endowment of over $50 million. In addition to the School of Entrepreneurship, the program is supported by the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship. The Center coordinates experiential learning opportunities and an aggressive portfolio of outreach activities and student initiatives. Candidates for the position must be able to contribute to all three program elements – research, teaching and outreach. Candidates should hold an earned doctorate in entrepreneurship or a closely related discipline, and must be able to demonstrate strong research potential. We expect the selected individual to join the team for the 2011-2012 academic year. Salary is highly competitive, and the teaching load will reflect a focus on scholarly research.
