The Management Department of the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a faculty position in Management at our main campus in Oxford, Mississippi. This is a tenure track position with the School of Business Administration and is open for the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Management.
Duties: To teach undergraduate, MBA, and/or PhD level courses in a tenure-track position in Business & Entrepreneurship and/or Strategic Management beginning Fall, 2011, with special preference given to applicants who conduct research in entrepreneurship. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate, MBA, and/or PhD level(s), to conduct research aimed toward top-tier journals, and to perform duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Department of Management. The normal teaching load for this position for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 (6 credit hours per each semester, Fall and Spring) with the option to teach summer courses for additional pay subject to course and funding availability.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for this position, the applicant must have an earned doctorate degree (or hold ABD status with expected degree completion prior to August 2011) from an accredited or well regarded program in Management, preferably in Business & Entrepreneurship or Strategic Management. Applicants should possess a proven track record of original research and publication in quality/recognized management journals, and must provide evidence of a strong commitment to scholarship, effective teaching, and service. No candidate will be considered who does not meet the departmental AACSB Academic Qualification (AQ) requirement (two peer reviewed journal articles since Spring 2006, ABD since Spring 2008, or newly conferred PhD since Spring 2006).
