  • 1.  Entrepreneurship Major -- Assessment

    Posted 04-29-2010 08:17
Our college is considering seeking AACSB accreditation (a decision well above my pay scale).  I have been asked to put together/figure out how we will assess our entrepreneurship majors at the end of the program.  Any suggestions/resources/direction would more than helpful.  Side note here -- We do not require our students to complete a business plan in our program.

Secondly, I am currently putting together a pre-/post-assessment of our declared majors in blackboard.  Once declared, they will be asked to complete an assessment at the beginning of their program.  When them complete the capstone course (or within this capstone course), they will complete a post-assessment to measure knowledge change.  Is anyone currently completing a similar type of assessment?

Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated.

Why don't you run both sets of students, beginning and capstone, through the same business game at the same time? The capstone students should do better if your program is effective. Let me know I can help you with this approach.

    Jeff

We ran a 4-hour workshop on assessment of Entrepreneurship Programs at the last USASBE meetings in Nashville in January. As a result of those meetings, USASBE created a special web page for members focused on the different approaches various programs take in assessing their entrepreneurship students. The site also has a comprehensive list of relevant references that should provide you with some significant guidance.
