Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is necessary;
Risking more than others think is safe;
Dreaming more than others think is practical;
And expecting more than others think is possible.

ANNOUNCEMENT
---------------------------
(Apologies for cross-postings: Sent March 20, 2010)
PLEASE MARK THESE DATES – 2MONTHS FROM TODAY: May 20-22, 2010 (Thursday evening through Saturday noon)!
WHAT: The 2010 (second annual) Entrepreneurship Research Exemplars Conference.
The Exemplars conference is part of the ENT Research Excellence Initiative, which was recognized as a “Best Practice” by the Academy Board of Governors at the 2009 Annual Meeting. Last year hundreds participated. (This year with your help . . . thousands??)
WHERE: The world-wide web; webcasting from the University of Connecticut (login information to come) with access to scholars globally (and opportunities for 2-way Q&A) – also via the web.
(See all 2009 webcasts plus 2010 information at
http://www.business.uconn.edu/exemplars.)
WHY: To continue the conversation begun at the 2009 Conference with editors, authors, and exemplars about how every scholar who wants to, can engage in top-tier entrepreneurship research.
HOW: Expanding from the “enabling” theme of last year’s conference, this year’s themes will include:
** Enduring Themes: Discussion of foundational works in the field from those who created them, including IDEA Foundational Paper award winners – leading for research excellence;
** Enabling Themes: Editor-author sessions PLUS several ENT Division “Mentor Award” winners from the past few years – coaching for excellent scholar development;
** Engaging Themes: A vision for the future from those who got us here PLUS selected winners and nominees for the “Thought Leader” IDEA Awards – demonstrating excellence for pathways to follow, and
** Emerging Themes: A reflection on the trends and what’s hot, from the editors of three major ENT journals PLUS selected winners and nominees for the “Research Promise” IDEA Awards – anticipating excellence for the ENT research future.
In the Entrepreneurship Division, we have created and preserved the funding necessary to gather in one place: leaders, coaches, exemplars, and visionaries to, once again, make it possible to reach and serve the entire ENT Division membership and beyond – all scholars who wish to engage in producing and publishing ENT research at the top-tier level.
Please watch your email for further details.
We are looking very forward to your participation.
Warmly,
Ron Mitchell and Rich Dino
ENT Research Excellence Initiative Co-Chairs
