A special issue of Industry and Higher Education,
International perspectives on entrepreneurship
education and learning
Volume 26, No 3, June 2012
This special issue incorporates a variety of approaches, methodologies
and country-specific perspectives and offers a timely contribution to
the growing debate on education for entrepreneurship and its impact on
the economy in general and industry in particular.
Entrepreneurship education is seen by many as the most cost-effective
and speedy way to increase both the quality and quantity of
entrepreneurs entering an economy. However there is a paucity of
empirically rigorous research to link entrepreneurship education
directly with positive and long-lasting entrepreneurial outcomes, in
particular during unfavourable economic conditions. This special issue
bridges the gap between theory and practice and contains eight
empirically rigorous articles which, individually and collectively,
illustrate the richness and variety of approaches symptomatic of focused
research in entrepreneurship education.
