Special Issue Open Innovation

  • 1.  Special Issue Open Innovation

    Posted 03-12-2010 11:11

Call for Papers from: European Journal of Innovation Management

Open Innovation can be better understood as a broad framework including several phenomena which can be described by different open innovation models. The features shared by these models include the use of ICT to link actors across organizational boundaries, an inter-organizational division of the innovative work and the need to change business models and organizational systems. However, the roles and goals of the participants as well as processes, technologies and rules are expected to be different in phenomena described by different open innovation models.

The purpose of this Special Issue is to bring together papers which contribute to the understanding of the specific features of different open innovation models in terms of roles played by the participants, enacted practices, relations among actors, strategic goals and organizational implications with a special focus on the role played by ICT.

Papers can be purely theoretical or theory-driven empirical work, either qualitative or quantitative.

Potential contributions may include, but are not limited to, issues such as:

        * ICT enabled open innovation modelsAlignment of ICT and open innovation models

        * Co-evolution of technology and open innovation models

        * Dynamics of open innovation models
