We would like to invite you to our PDW on "Entrepreneurship in the Informal Economy: Models, Approaches and Prospects for Economic Development"

The workshop consists of panel discussions led by contributing authors of an edited book entitled "Entrepreneurship in the Informal Economy: Models, Approaches and Prospects for Economic Development" to be published by Routledge Publishers. This PDW provides platform for discussion on how to manage informal entrepreneurial activities for economic development. Offering an in-depth examination of informal entrepreneurship in many different countries, it reveals the motivations for engaging in entrepreneurship in the informal economy, characteristics of informal entrepreneurship and the role of informal entrepreneurship for economic development. It shows the relationship between formal and informal economies and makes recommendations about when and how the informal economy can be formalized, which sectors should be formalized and which ones can remain informal.

This PDW is aimed at scholars, policymakers, students and entrepreneurs.

More specifically, its intended audience is:

• Scholars interested in examining informal entrepreneurship

• Governments, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations actively involved in economic development programs

• Students in Public Administration and Entrepreneurship programs

• Entrepreneurs with an interest in activities in the informal economy
