    Dear Colleagues

I need help in finding a teaching case that deals with the process of
determining "the degree to which an idea is an opportunity" for a new
start-up. This case will be used in an undergraduate entrepreneurship course.

thanks, in advance for any and all suggestions

    regards

    Dear Phil & Colleagues,

I have a case in press at ET&P that I think is available online now, titled "P&G is selling Oxydol!" The case involves two guys who work in their "dream jobs" at P&G but who want to become entrepreneurs. They discover that P&G has put the Oxydol brand up for sale and they go through the process of trying to determine if this represents a good opportunity, if it's the right one for them and how they can raise the money to buy the brand in a short amount of time. We tested the case with MBAs while working on it and they loved it. I suspect undergraduates would as well--it raises a lot of interesting issues especially since they're trying to raise the money to purchase the oldest detergent brand in America during the dot.com era.

There's a teaching note with the case and if any of you decide to use it, I'd be happy to talk with you more about how things turned out for the two guys in the case.
