Tenure-Track Position in Entrepreneurship
The department is looking for enterprising candidates who will help to grow CSUSB's nationally-recognized Entrepreneurship program, ranked number 4 in 2006 by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur® magazine. Rank is open with Assistant Professor preferred. By the appointment date, candidates for this full-time position shall possess an earned doctorate in Entrepreneurship or a closely related field of business. Expectations for the position include teaching entrepreneurship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as general management. It is also expected that the person filling this position will play an active role in program activities of the Center for Entrepreneurship, in the advising of students in the department and serving on college and university-wide committees. Candidates must have demonstrated teaching excellence, and evidence of publication record in Entrepreneurship or strong development of a promising stream of research.
Preferred candidates will be expected to meet the traditional requirements of excellence in teaching, active scholarly and professional work, and service to the University and community. In addition, new faculty are encouraged to develop and participate in activities that support the University's strategic plan. This plan emphasizes three areas: a) alternative modes of instructional delivery to include off-campus and distance learning; b) the learning process, i.e., innovative teaching strategies and/or research on how students learn and apply knowledge over an extended period of time; and c) partnership with the community to enhance social, economic, and cultural conditions.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Entrepreneurship or a related area and preferred commensurate professional experience in entrepreneurial ventures or established business enterprises. Preferred candidates have demonstrated teaching excellence, and show evidence of publication record or strong development of a stream of research in entrepreneurship.
Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience. The possibility to earn additional compensation through summer school teaching exists.
