The Fisher College of Business will be hosting the 2nd annual Alleviating Poverty Through Entrepreneurship on Friday, February 5th. This summit strives to bring together a variety of social entrepreneurs, policy leaders from the World Bank, and academics such as Sharon Alvarez from OSU and Jill Kickul from NYU to discuss leading trends in policy and business research in the fight against poverty. The event will be broadcasted live through the link below and the event will be interactive through avenues such as twitter.
Poverty means not having access to basic human needs – such as food and clean water. 16,000 children die each day due to hunger. Two-thirds of people in the world lack access to clean water. Poverty robs people of their dignity and limits their ability to improve their lives. Through social entrepreneurship we can systematically search for ways to help people improve their lives.
