Many of you know that I'm a big fan of Global Entrepreneurship Week (Nov 16-22,
www.unleashingideas.org)
and...
many of you know how obsessed I am with constructivistic entrepreneurship education -- learning that changes not just what we know but how we know it... AND I know how much most of you believe in that too...
so....
It is NOT too late to consider the way cool Startup Weekend model -- www,
startupweekend.com - where you get 100+ folks together on a Friday afternoon/evening and... start *something* by Sunday afternoon/evening. Powerful entrepreneurial learning and you never know what will come out of these weekends. At worst, it's a blast & a great learning experience. At best... I think you can imagine!
We're doing this in Idaho (
http://idaho.startupweekend.org/) and there are currently 6 others scheduled in/around GEW. Yes, it's not that far away (December counts as GEW-related, I'd think) but if see what it entails, it's very doable!
If you're even remotely interested - harass Marc Nager of SW (
marc@startupweekend.com, @MarcNager) and his merry little band of SW-ers will be glad to get you rolling. Remember, this is *global* so if you are not in the US, you are most welcome too! (Maybe even more if you send Marc & me plane tickets, LOL)
Seriously - GEW is on its way up - and Startup Weekend is a total no-brainer. Join the fun! (and the great entrepreneurial learning)
p.s. If you're interested in GEW, the national coordinator is Anne Gilberg (agilberg@unleashingideas.org, @UnleashingIdeas). Whether SW or GEW or both, you might cc Kauffman's Public Forum champion Mark Marich (mark@pfidc.org or @MarkMarich)
Thanks for your time -
