Alex- for what purpose do you need this? Promotion criteria?
My first thought is that journals may be less of a signal than
citation counts - who is citing my articles, how many (Google Scholar
can give you a quick & dirty count) & in what journals. Do you want a
highly-cited ETP or an uncited JBV, even though JBV tends to be rated
higher?
We do have the impact factors for the leading journals (someone on
this list will likely have the actual numbers, but here is what my
feeble memory recalls...)
the top 2 are JBV & ETP (ETP is rising fast)
then a dropoff to JSBM & SBE (and, I think, ISBJ & ERD),
after that a BIG dropoff...
I'd guess that JDE & SEJ are the two that might become competitive
(especially SEJ, given the juice & bloodlines behind it.)
So, publish in JBV & ETP (unless you hit AMR/AMJ/ASQ/OS/MS or other
A/A+ journals... which we probably SHOULD be trying to do with every
research project.)
Personally, I'd argue for valuing Babson proceedings papers as a
"B"... but that's a tough sell to administrators who want to see at
least B+ journals.
My friend, does this remotely help? LOL
