Job description
You as a candidate are invited to apply for participating in the Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship & Marketing (ITEM) group's research and educational program focusing on new product and business development processes. The position involves a moderate teaching load at a School of Industrial Engineering, which has a strong research focus. The appointment involves a six-year tenure-track position as an assistant professor.
As a successful candidate you are expected to be involved in conducting top-level academic research in technology entrepreneurship & innovation management to be published in high-quality scholarly journals. You will teach technology entrepreneurship and/or innovation management courses at the Bachelor and/or Master level (in English, Dutch, or both), and also be involved in PhD supervision. We also expect you to acquire external research funding from industry or organizations like NWO, play an active citizenship role within the ITEM-group, and participate actively in international academic networks and organizations.
Organization
The School of Industrial Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology is one of the longest-established engineering schools in Europe, with a strong presence in the international research and education community, especially in the field of Innovation Management & Technology Entrepreneurship, which are at the core of the undergraduate BSc program. The graduate programs (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) in Innovation Management attract top-level students from all over the world. Researchers are member of the KNAW accredited Beta research school.
Group
The ITEM group is part of the School of Industrial Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. The group is growing strongly and currently consists of about 20 fte faculty and 12 fte PhD's who participate in and contribute to the research, educational and service program of the ITEM group. The program on New Product and Business Development Processes is one of the leading programs in the world in its field. The program emphasizes means for measuring and improving the process of conceiving, developing, and launching new products and businesses. As such, it encompasses both strategic and operational activities of new product and business development. While the program covers the full range of establishing new products and its underlying design, and the development and commercialization processes in (new) businesses, its primary focus is on high-tech products.

Job requirements
You should have a relevant PhD degree in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation management, industrial design or industrial engineering (or expect to obtain the PhD degree in the very near future). You have a drive to conduct excellent research and teaching and have expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques. You already published or have papers forthcoming in highly ranked academic journals. You also have teaching experience at the Bachelor and/or Master level. Ability to speak Dutch is highly appreciated, fluency in English is required.
Conditions of employment
We offer each you an employment of 1.0 fte as an Assistant Professor for a period of 6 years with possible tenure. For outstanding candidates a tenure-track towards Associate Professor is possible. Your gross salary is in the range of € 45.250 to € 62.000 per annum (on a full-time basis), based on your background and working experience. This salary includes a yearly holiday allowance of 8% of the yearly salary and a yearly end year allowance of 8.3% of the yearly salary. We offer a 40 hour working week and 41 holiday days and highly appreciated flexibility.
