1-2 POST DOCS AT AUSTRALIAN CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP RESEARCH

We are hiring again, so take this chance to get a head start in your academic career! The Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research at Queensland University of Technology, Australia, is offering the opportunity to spend 12- 24 months as salaried Post Doc under conditions of strong research infrastructure and limited teaching obligations. This Post Doctoral Research Fellowship will be filled by a young researcher with a completed/submitted Ph.D. (before the end of 2013), who aspires to contribute to the international research frontier in entrepreneurship and/or management more broadly, and who has already shown promise of such ability.

The Centre is an internationally recognized player in entrepreneurship research. Faculty affiliated with the Centre regularly publish in leading journals and have strong representation at leading conferences and editorial boards. We host the annual, Australian-based research conference dedicated to entrepreneurship (
ACERE) as well as a high profile, annual "Paper Development Bootcamp"; we host the Australian GEM team, and run the largest project on business start-ups ever undertaken in Australia (CAUSEE) among other high-profile projects. Centre Director Per Davidsson recently completed his five year term as an elected officer of the Entrepreneurship Division of AoM and two of our researchers, Judy Matthews and Roxanne Zolin currently serve as Representatives-at-Large. Further, we have an increasing number of research students and we frequently host international top entrepreneurship scholars as visiting academics. The QUT Business School is one of the largest and strongest business faculties in Australia and the first to achieve "Triple Crown Accreditation" (AACSB; AMBA; EQUIS).

It is in this vibrant environment that we seek to hire up to two ambitious, early career researchers. The positions would give the right candidates excellent opportunities to work on and publish from a number of longitudinal datasets (
CAUSEE, GEM, and a new project longitudinally tracking companies in the Australian Mining Industry). Candidates would also have time to develop journal publications from their thesis or other already on-going work. Initially positions would be offered for 12 months with the opportunity to extend the appointment for another 12 months if both parties agree.

The Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research is part of QUT Business School (Management) and is located at the Gardens Point campus in central Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia, and host to the 2014 G20 summit. Brisbane is a fast growing, highly livable city of 1.7 million with an unbeatable climate and easy access to the beaches at Gold and Sunshine Coasts as well as the rainforest parks in the hinterland. See here for further information about Brisbane.

The Post Doctoral starting salary is currently AUD $81,684 per annum. Costs of living in Brisbane are reasonable.

Applicants must have finished their Ph.D. before taking up the position, and should preferably be able to commence by mid 2014.

Formal applications will open here very shortly and only for a short window.  To first informally put forward your expression of interest please contact with Per Davidsson (per.davidsson@qut.edu.au).  If you contact us via email, make sure you include the following information: a) time and place where your PhD was/is being earned, b) title of thesis as well as main theory and methodological approach used in the thesis work; c) publications and conference presentations so far, d) preferred core ACE project to work on and special qualification for this, e) other intended use of Post Doc time, and f) specific reason for wanting to spend a Post Doc year at The Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research at QUT

    Sincerely,

    Per Davidsson
